New UN Resident Coordinator Arrives in DPR Korea

Mr. Tapan Mishra takes up his appointment as UN Resident Coordinator and UNDP and UNFPA Resident Representative for the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.

Mr. Tapan Mishra (India) arrived on Friday 12 May 2015 to take up his appointment as UN Resident Coordinator and UNDP and UNFPA Resident Representative for the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK).

Mr. Tapan Mishra joined UNDP in 2003, and before his appointment to DPR Korea served in the Bureau for Policy and Programme Support, Bureau of Management and Human Development Report Office and in the Office of Human Resources. Prior to joining UNDP, Mr. Mishra worked in his home country with several organizations, including as Vice-President of Grow Talent Company Limited and a Faculty Member of Infosys Leadership Institute. He has also been active in academia through teaching HR Management at leading institutions in India and at Colombia University, School for International and Public Affairs, USA.

Tapan holds a B.Sc. (Hons) from St. Columba’s College, India and a Post Graduate Honors Diploma in Personnel Management and Industrial Relations from Xavier Labour Relations Institute, Xavier School of Management, India.
